Nov 30, 2019 · Hello folks. I am new the forum and need some help. I bought a 2006 500 carb ranger. It all of the sudden stopped running while my father in law was driving it. It ran fine before. It didn't look like it had been used. I got a new switch and thought it was ready to go but now it cranks and will not start. I pulled a plug and it appeared to have spark. I sprayed ether in the intake and it started and ran for about 1 second. It should pressurize the fuel system on the first turn of the key to on. From there it should hold pressure and the pump should run while cranking to keep pressure to the system. If turned off and back on soon after the pump will not run if the pressure is still there. 2020 xp4 1000 won’t start. Other option is to remove the entire clutch and housing but that is a ton of work and many members here have changed the starter without doing that. Also, most people here have used DB electrical for replacement with good outcomes. To test to see if the switch is working depress the brake and see if the brake lights come on. If they do this is not your problem. If no brake lights you can jump across the 2 wires on the switch and rzr should start. Make sure you are in park for safety.Take a pair of bare metal handled pliers and jump across the solenoid that is just to the rear and below the drivers seat. Be careful, as it will start in any gear without pressing the brake pedal. It's fuel injected and you can jump across the solenoid and it will turn over that way but it's not firing and I'm getting power to the solenoid when you turn the key but it won't turn over and I replaced the solenoid along with a programmable ecm that's a plug in play ecm.
