Drakengard 2 follow the events of Drakengard 1 ending A, while Nier follows the events of ending E. They are both cannon for example. I think Nier Automata is a very tragic story about love, and not just the romantic kind. I don't think 9S hates anything more than the people who built him. 2B reflects on this in the beginning - what starts as a bit of a meta joke about dying in the prologue is really a Nietzsche-esque philosophy, that our gods are cruel for putting us in a life like this. I hate how 9S completely lost it at 2B's death, never even letting A2 explain herself, although she had obviously no hostile intent and even maybe affection, coming from 2B's memory, for him.
